 Busking Competition

Calling all Buskers

The Turning Wave Busking Competition takes to the streets of Gundagai on Saturday 19th September between 10.30am and 12 mid-day. Talented musicians, singers and/or entertainers are invited to practise their craft in the retail shopping strip along Sheridan Street and vie for our cash prize pool, studio recording time and the opportunity to perform at the Many Coloured Land Concert on Sunday 20th September.

The people of Gundagai love a fine performance, so feel free to put your hat out and convince them to open their wallets. Be part of The Turning Wave Festival. You might even win a prize.

THIS COULD BE YOU!

Meet Cameron Mather,

winner of the 2008 Busking Competition.

Cameron has just released his first solo CD, Keepin it Lit using his prize of  studio recording time. He impressed the judges with his musicianship and talent and will be performing at Turning Wave in 2009.

Participation is open to all holders of an Adult or Youth

Register when you purchase your weekend ticket or at the Festival Office during opening hours from Wed 16th to no later than 10am Sat. 19th September. Each busking act is limited to no more than three (3) persons.

The number of acts will be limited to ensure everyone gets a suitable street position. Entry will be on a first come basis and once all street positions are filled no more entries will be accepted so register early to avoid disappointment.

Post your completed form to Cherrie Brown, Busking Co-ordinator, PO Box 86 Gundagai NSW 2722 or hand it in at the festival by 10am Saturday 19th.

The winning act must be available to perform at the Many Coloured Land Concert in order to collect the cash & studio recording time components of the prize. If participating acts are not of a standard deemed by the judges to be suitable for performance at the Many Coloured Land Concert the committee reserves the right to award commendations in lieu of prizes. For complete conditions of entry see the Registration Form.
