The Living Tradition Award: Presented by the Turning Wave Festival to recognise an individual, group or organisation that has, through dedication and commitment, contributed to one of the many facets of the Australian traditional music landscape for the better. The inaugural award was presented to Kevin Doyle in recognition of his outstanding contribution to Irish traditional music in Australia, especially NSW.

The 2010 award recipient will be announced in August.

is organised by The Turning Wave Festival Inc.  with support from the Gundagai community and GREG Inc..

The Turning Wave is  taken from a poem by Colleen Z Burke and an anthology of the same name compiled and edited by Colleen and Vincent Woods, and is used with the kind permission of the authors.
