Performer applications

for 2009

will open Mon 1 Dec. '08

Do you want to be part of an exciting showcase

of musicians & performers from around Australia?

Information for Applicants

Please read before completing your application

The Turning Wave presents a variety of performance opportunities including concerts, workshops, themed presentations, children's events, theatre, sessions, street entertainment and a parade, and we are especially looking for performers who can contribute to the festival in a broader context.

The Turning Wave is a small, non-commercial, community arts event with a very modest budget.  The Festival is realised under the auspices of the Gundagai Regional Enhancement Group Inc. and is staffed entirely by volunteers.

Performer Applications open: 1st December 2008.

Closing date: 28th February 2009.

The Festival takes place in a number of venues throughout the historic town of Gundagai. It is anticipated that performers should be flexible enough to make anywhere from 3 – 4 appearances over the Festival weekend. More if you are coming for the whole 5 days.

We are looking for performers who can express the ethos and the theme of the festival in entertaining, engaging and informative ways in both the traditional and contemporary arts, and who will also enter into the spirit of the event.

Fee Structure

Like most festivals we can only provide modest fees and it is unrealistic to expect the kind of remuneration that you might get from a commercial gig. We try to be fair to all our performers and will take into consideration the number  and type of performances you can offer and where you are travelling from.

Your FEE should be inclusive. Please just quote one figure. Do not give breakdowns.

We do offer great venues, good sound and the opportunity to sell your CDs and merchandise.

Acts with more than 8 members such as choirs and dance groups should consider the possibility of performing for "season tickets".
